作家兼哲学家伏尔泰曾说：“法国是欧洲的中国，中国是亚洲的法国”。

2024年是中法建交60周年，值此重要时刻，在广州特别举办《和鸣》---陈本&让·米歇尔双个展暨中法建交六十周年特展。

广州，曾是唐宋时期的海上大门，享有“千年商都”的美誉。岭南文化和精神绵延千年，至今仍光芒四射，将中国文化传播到世界各地。瓷器、茶叶、丝绸、刺绣等珍品均体现了中国的精湛工艺，自18世纪以来就深受欧洲尤其是法国精英阶层的喜爱。明清时期，中国文化更是深刻影响了法国洛可可艺术。

法国经历了两次工业革命，资产阶级的掀起，促进了前所未有的文化艺术繁荣。20世纪，法国现代艺术成为世界艺术史上的辉煌篇章，得益于文森特·梵高、克劳德·莫奈、保罗·塞尚、巴勃罗·毕加索等众多创新艺术家的贡献。

在过去的一百年里，中国留法的前辈们：徐悲鸿、林风眠、常玉、吴大羽、潘玉良、赵无极、朱得群、吴冠中等艺术家， 他们融贯中西，开辟了崭新的艺术之路，成为后人敬仰的大师。

唐代的张璪说过：“外师造化，中得心源”，法国的罗丹也曾说过“艺术是无界限的，它可以穿越时间、空间和文化差异”。

此次展览汇集了两位生活在广州的当代艺术家，中国艺术家陈本和法国艺术家让·米歇尔，他们受各自文化传统的启发，放怀思绪，驰骋想象，激扬艺术之灵性，追光而遇，沐光而行，和而不同，求同存异。

The renowned writer and philosopher Voltaire once said, “France is the China of Europe, and China is the France of Asia.”

As we approach the significant milestone of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France in 2024, a special exhibition titled “Resonance—Chen Ben & Jean Michel’s joint solo exhibition” , commemorating this auspicious occasion, is being held in Guangzhou.

Guangzhou, once a maritime gateway during the Tang and Song dynasties, is renowned as the “Thousand-Year Merchants’ City”. The Lingnan culture and spirit, having flourished for a millennium, continue to shine brightly, spreading the essence of Chinese culture to all corners of the world. Porcelains, teas, silks, embroideries, and other treasures embody the exquisite craftsmanship of China, deeply adored by the elite of Europe, especially France, since the 18th century. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Chinese culture profoundly influenced the Rococo art of France.

France, having undergone two industrial revolutions and the rise of the bourgeoisie, ushered in an unprecedented cultural and artistic prosperity. In the 20th century, French modern art became a splendid chapter in the history of world art, thanks to the contributions of innovative artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, and Pablo Picasso.

Over the past century, Chinese artists who studied in France, including Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Chang Yu, Wu Dayu, Pan Yuliang, Zao Wou-ki, Zhu Dequn, and Wu Guanzhong, have integrated Eastern and Western aesthetics, blazing a trail in art that has made them revered masters.

As Zhang Zao of the Tang dynasty aptly put it, “Learn from nature externally, and find inspiration within the heart”. Rodin of France also said, “Art knows no boundaries; it transcends time, space, and cultural differences.”

This exhibition gathers two contemporary artists residing in Guangzhou - Chinese artist Chen Ben and French artist Jean Michel. Inspired by their respective cultural traditions, they unleash their thoughts and imaginations, igniting the spirit of art. They seek harmony in diversity, embracing similarities while respecting differences.

艺术评论

艺术家陈本，他的艺术不拘泥于单一性，不随波逐流。每创作一个系列作品后，又去改变一种风格，他说；'我不是将一本天书读到老之人'，他着重于自身的感知与悟道，不断发掘适合自己时段性所要表述的艺术语境，直抒胸怀。西方的杜尚、里斯特、中国古代的张旭、徐渭……都是他艺术创作的精神启迪，更给予他自信与动力。不难看出陈本《心荷系列》、《鱼意系列》、《瓶.静》、《中国故事》系列中都有所不同的风格转变，作品中仿佛有法国印象派的色谱、更有中国宋朝、敦煌的色彩光环，有着中国书法书写性的豪逸张力，流畅浑灏，注入中国绘画写心、写意的风高骨洁之崇高精神！

Ben CHEN, born in Guangzhou in 1959, he is a former member of Guangdong Province Artists Association, former managing Director of Guangzhou Artists Association and Deputy Director of the Painting Art Commission Guangzhou Artists Association.

Art Critic

Artist Ben CHEN, his artistic character does not follow trends, he set it. After he created a series of art pieces, he then changed to another style. “I’m not set in one style” he said. Focus on his own perception, he continuously exploring his in the moment artistic context, and act it out. Duchanmp and Lister in the West, Zhang Xu and Xu Wei in ancient China... they are the spiritual inspiration of his artistic creation, and it gives him confidence and motivation. You will easily find out the style changing from his collection of Lotus, Fish, Vase, Chinese Stories. The painting implies French impressionism colour spectrum, but also with glory of Dunhuang, from Song Dynasty. And also like Chinese calligraphy, inpouring lofty sentiment, with noble character.

让·米歇尔·斯达尼斯拉斯·卡柯尼斯奇，1957年出生于巴黎，是法国表现主义艺术家、造型艺术家、雕塑家、摄影师和奢侈品设计师，法国美术家协会会员，法国表现主义画院院长。

艺术风格

向往如莫奈一般创作的让·米歇尔·斯达尼斯拉斯·卡柯尼斯奇，敢于尝试多个领域以实现自己的艺术才能，从造型艺术到广告再到设计。他的艺术世界无疑展现出强烈而生动的自由的力量，一种只是纯粹的创作的乐趣。

他的作品风格介于表现主义和印象派之间，打破了传统艺术规范，重塑自己的学术语言。画笔自然敏感地捕捉和传达即时的瞬间，恣意而突变的创作风格却随时可达无可挑剔的平衡。

抽象的构图与动感在平衡的材料中恣意挥舞，画面色彩始终不断呈现着极其微妙的变化，挑动观者的想象，并将他们带入类似于具象的审美中。

中国艺术之旅

2008 年，让·米歇尔第一次来中国“冒险”，他的作品在上海春季艺术沙龙展出。被中国文化深深吸引的他，自此开启中国艺术探索之旅。他的作品在中国 100 多个艺术沙龙、拍卖以及文化艺术交流活动展出，遍及中国 30 多个城市，如北京、上海、广州、深圳、香港、珠海、杭州、成都、重庆、武汉、大连等。借中法文化艺术交流之际，他还遍访中国不同地区美景并用画笔记录下来 , 新疆、四川、黄山、桂林、婺源…...等地，中国的文化和艺术为他的艺术创作带来微妙的变化。

Born in Paris in 1957, Jean Michel Stanislas GARCZYNSKI is a French expressionist artist, painter, sculptor, designer and photographer, he is a member of the Maison Des Artiste, president of Expressionnist Art Academy and Art consultant of CHIA (China Horse Industry Association) .

Art Style

Dreaming of immersing himself in the spirit of a Monet, Jean Michel Stanislas Garczynski unravelled on his return his artistic palette by trying various creative aspects, from plastic art to advertising and also focus on design. His universe marks the strength of an undeniably lively and strong freedom, which is untied by the simple and the very pleasure of creating.

His paintings resonate with expressionist and impressionist auras, breaking the codes of conventional art and reinventing the languages of common logic.

Abstract movements and compositions open their arms within harmonious materials that raise the imagination and penetrate the viewer into a figurative aesthetic where the image never ceases to unfold in a miltitude of nuances. 

Art Journey in China

In 2008, he comes for the first time to present his work in China at Art Shanghai. Very attracted by Chinese culture, he began his great tour of exploration in China.

He has been invited to exhibit his works at international art fairs, art salons, auctions and other artistic activities, in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Haikou, Nanjing, Xiamen, Zhuhai, Dalian, Hongkong... On these exhibition occasions, he visited and  painted the most beautiful landscapes of China, such as Xinjiang, Guilin, Sichuan, Huangshan, Wuyuan, Guizhou, Daliangshan... More than twenty provinces. Chinese culture influences subtly his paintings !
